I hear you on the need to manage one's financial stresses. It's so easy to slip from an abundance mindset into a scarcity mindset. Sometimes it's real as real gets, but other times it's our mind playing tricks. I also know the lure of a costly online course. A few years back, I spent a whopping sum to learn how to "productize my services" in order to earn "residual income." I did learn a lot from participating in the course, but a lot of what I learned is how to play a game that ultimately I had little interest in playing.

I've written about the scarcity trap, so I sort of knew what I was doing even as I was doing it, but telling myself not to do it was really very hard. Stupid brains!

But your point about not wanting to play the game is very apropos. With a calmer mind, I look at what this sales guy is doing, and really, do I want to be that person? Probably not, no.
